COVID 19

Following the guidelines set out by the HSE, new health and safety procedures will be in place for patients attending the clinic for physiotherapy.

Before attending, all patients will be contacted to complete a risk assessment verbally. The assessment seeks to identify the following:

Establish if the patient has any symptoms of COVID-19.

Identify if the patient has had close contact with another person with confirmed or suspected COVID-19.

Confirm if the patient has travelled internationally in the 14 days before the scheduled appointment.

If a patient answers yes to any of the above questions, they will advised not to attend the clinic.

Patients who have been in contact with anyone who has a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 or who has travelled internationally, should self-isolate for 14 days prior to making an appointment.

Patients in “at risk” groups are advised only to attend the clinic if their benefit of physiotherapy outweighs their risk. Verbal consultations over the phone/videocall can be arranged for patients who are unable to attend the clinic.

What to expect when you come to the clinic:

Patients will be asked to wait in their car prior to their appointment time and notify the clinic by phone call or text message that they are outside.

Your therapist will come outside to greet you at the time of your appointment. Every patient will be provided with a disposable water-resistant (type II R) mask and will be requested to sanitise their hands upon entry.

Once in the treatment room your temperature will be taken. Patients who display a temperature of >38°C will be asked to reschedule their appointment for a later date (allowing for a 14-day potential incubation period).

During the appointment your therapist will work to minimise close contact and proximity to you, as much as possible. The therapist will only engage in direct contact with the patient during necessary assessment or treatment requirements.

Your therapist will be wearing a water-resistant (type II R) mask, disposable gloves and plastic apron that will be changed after each consultation.

In addition, every consultation will be spaced apart to allow for full sanitising of surfaces and equipment.

A risk assessment of cleaning procedures and protocols has been prepared and will be implemented after each consultation.

These procedures are adhering to guidelines set by the HSE and necessary new measures that need to be implemented to prevent the spread of COVID 19.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the clinic.

Grayson Hart - Rugby Player

I had ongoing pain for several years due to a degenerative knee problem. I had seen numerous physios over six years with the same injury and have never come across one as diligent and caring as Karen. She covered all the bases from hands on treatment, to great rehab and strength programmes. This has helped to keep my knee strong, stable and pain free, which has allowed me to continue playing professional rugby.

Anna-Marie Harrison - Property developer

After having three hip replacements and chronic knee pain for many years I struggled with walking, stairs, and found everyday activities difficult. Karen helped show me that pain and fear were creating barriers to better movement patterns and encouraged me to do exercises and tasks that were outside of my comfort zone. She has helped me to regain my strength, and now I can get on/off the floor with confidence. I am now willing to give everything a go, and I have even joined a gym which I thought I would never do again!

Richie Vernon - Rugby Player

I had been struggling with a persistent ankle problem which was flaring up easily when I tried to get back to training. Karen’s approach to treatment, rehabilitation and strength programming progressed my recovery expertly. I was able to come back stronger and more confident on it than ever. I’d recommended her collaborative approach highly.

Dina Fish - Banker

I highly recommend Karen. Not only did Karen treat me for my knee pain, but she recognised the problem I was having with my hip. After only two sessions I had noticeable pain relief and I found I had more movement in my hip and lower back. Karen is absolutely great, being very personable, patient and always calming. As well as this she also gave me some great exercises to continue myself following our treatment, ensuring I go from strength to strength.

Henari Veratau - Rugby Player

Karen without a doubt would have to be one of the most professional and knowledgeable physiotherapists I have had the pleasure of working with in my 18 year international professional rugby career. She is a methodical problem solver, caring, empathetic and always professional in her approach towards treatment. She never left anything to chance and was always going beyond her duties to give me the care and treatment I needed to get back on the pitch.
